All staff are required to attend both an Indoor and and On-Snow Orientation every season.
You will sign up for orientation during registration. An email confirmation with the dates you selected will be sent to you upon completion of registration (link will be sent out in August 2019). If you need to switch orientation dates, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Orientations run the last two weekends in November and the first weekend in December.
2019 INDOOR ORIENTATION:
This orientation is entirely indoors, no gear required. It includes general mountain info, lesson program details, safety and class management.
Social Insurance Number (required so we can pay you!)
Work Permit copy (if applicable)
Background check (if not completed online)
Certifications copies (if not already submitted)
Proof of Certification renewal/dues paid
Lunch (if the mountain is open the cafeteria will be open)
* Please bring copies. We will not have access to the photocopier.
ON SNOW ORIENTATION:
It is a great opportunity to get to know your co-workers, supervisors, and trainers and to work out some of the summer cobwebs and get your feet sliding under you again. We’ll cover details for teaching in different types of lesson programs, practice some class management and safety, and get in some turns.
This orientation is entirely on-snow and will run in all weather conditions. Please bring:
ski or snowboard gear
Lift Tickets will be issued to you by trainers
Uniforms are not required. They will be issued to you on your first shift.
Shuttle transportation is free for staff attending orientation. Please inform the bus driver that you are staff and that you are coming for your first shift.
You do not need your staff pass for orientation shuttles.
